TECH China Plays An Important Role in Annual Spring Migration
TECH is TRC’s global tire & wheel brand known for 79 years of setting the worldwide standard for tire repair on everything from motorbikes to large earth mover tires. Recently TRC’s TECH China operation located in Shanghai played a major role in what is known as “The Largest Human Migration” on earth.
Each year the Spring Festival travel season or the 40 day Chunyun period sees 385 million Chinese people who leave the major cities to visit their families in rural parts of the country according to China News. The experience is always a difficult one for people making the trip, with airports, roads and trains overcrowded and uncomfortable making travel treacherous.
One of the most utilized modes of travel is the motorcycle or motorbike. TECH China partnered with Hezhou Traffic Police to establish the “Warm Sun Love Travel Center”. This center is an oasis for all of those migrating to and from their ancestral homes. The travel center provides all types of support including free tire repair.
TECH’s “Warm Way Back” portion of the Travel Center serviced tens of thousands of tires with free repairs. TECH China’s General Manager Henry Jackson said “This is an incredibly important season to the Chinese people. Getting home and back safely is challenging. TECH is thrilled to play a small part to ensure peoples journeys are completed safely on sound properly inspected and repaired tires”.
